Castello Rewards Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement deals with the privacy of the personal information collected from the members of the Venue.

The Venue Operator is committed to respecting the privacy of personal information in its possession and is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in relation to the handling of personal information.

For the purposes of this Privacy Statement, the words “we”, “us”, “our” mean the Venue Operator and/or its related bodies corporate. The words, “you”, “yours”, mean the person named in the membership application form.

Information collected

We will collect personal information that you choose to give us as part of your membership application. This personal information is recorded in the membership database and is stored for the period during which you remain a member of the Venue, including your name, postal address, contact details, date of birth and any other information that you provide on the application form as amended from time to time.

Collection and storage of personal information

We will only collect personal information with your consent. Personal information is generally collected through the use of the membership application form, weather via hardcopy, in person or over the phone.

Personal Information collected will be added to our mailing list unless you advise us that you do not consent to receiving information from us in relation to your membership or the venue.

All personal information collected is securely stored and reasonable steps are taken to ensure its protection against misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure.

If you choose not to provide certain personal information to us that are mandatory, we may not be able to approve your membership.

Use of your personal information

We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes necessary to carry out membership functions and provide our membership services and programs. The primary purposes for which personal information is collected, held, used and disclosed to third parties would generally relate to;

  1. The creation and maintenance of membership records, including the distribution of membership cards and processing of renewal information;
  2. The publication and distribution of regular newsletters;
  3. The administration and management of the membership office, including the management of loyalty points and rewards programs, and prize giveaways;
  4. The provision of information and direct marketing communications about current and future services and benefits;
  5. other membership correspondence and assistance.

Should a situation arise whereby the disclosure of your personal information would be for a purpose outside the primary purpose (“secondary purpose”) we will seek consent from you. However, should we not receive a response from you to our request within 30 days from the date of request, you will be deemed to have provided consent to the use or disclosure of your personal information for the secondary purpose.

Personal information may be disclosed to law enforcement, investigative or government bodies where required by law in accordance with the APPs.

Your personal information will be shared with third parties who are engaged by the Venue, to store or process data or to develop promotional materials to send to you in relation to your membership.  Such third parties will be advised by the Venue to handle your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

A third Party may disclose your personal information to recipients located outside Australia that provide them services but only if:

  • Reasonable steps have been taken to ensure that the recipient does not breach the Australian PrivacyPrinciples (APPs)(other than APP 1); or
  • It is believed that:
    • a law or scheme in the country of the recipient includes requirements that are substantially similar to the requirements of the APPs; and
    • you can take action to enforce that law or scheme; or
  • You have been have informed of the disclosure and have provided express consent; or
  • The APPs otherwise allow

Other than as set out above, neither the Venue nor a third party will share information about you with any other organisations without your permission.

Direct Marketing

As part of your membership, you may receive direct marketing communications relating to your membership.

If you no longer wish to receive direct marketing communications, you can opt out at anytime by contacting us via the details provided below.

Data security

We are committed to taking reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure and against other misuse. These steps include storing electronic files in secure facilities, encryption of data, regular backups of data we hold, audit and logging mechanisms and physical access restrictions.

When no longer required, personal information is destroyed in a secure manner.

Access to your personal information

You may contact us to request access to your personal information that we hold. We will respond within a reasonable time and provide access to the information requested, except in circumstances where refusal of access is permitted or authorised by law.

To protect your privacy and the privacy of others, we may have to verify your identity, including but not limited to obtaining from you, evidence of your identity and personal details before providing you access to your personal information.

Correction

If your personal information is incorrect, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, you must notify us to correct your personal information. Requests will be dealt with in a reasonable time period. We will take reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date. In certain circumstances prescribed by the legislation, we may decline a request. If so, we will give you a written notice setting out the reason for the refusal and the complaint mechanism available to you.

Consent and Complaint

All complaints are taken seriously and are dealt with promptly. If you are concerned that we may have handled your personal information inappropriately, a complaint may be lodged in writing to us via the contact details provided below. We will respond within a reasonable time frame upon receipt of the complaint.

If you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint, or at any time, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
